MWH Constructors is part of the Stantec community of 22,000 employees in over 400 locations across six continents. From initial concept and planning through design, construction and commissioning, our work begins at the intersection of community, creativity and client relationships.
A Place to Call Home
MWH Constructors recognizes and supports the growing emphasis employees are placing on family and the desire to put down roots in the communities we live and work in. We have developed regions of work in the United States where we have several projects underway and are actively bidding and winning more work for the future.
Having numerous projects in the same general region offers employees the opportunity for both career growth and stable employment without having to uproot themselves or their families every few years.
“Moving to where the work is” was the mantra of the construction industry for decades. At MWH Constructors, we believe that mantra should be an exception and a choice rather than the rule.
We currently have regions centered in Denver, Colorado; Dallas, Texas; Portland, Oregon; Orlando, Florida, and Southern California.
An Employer of Choice: Individualized Career Paths
Many employers provide their employees with general career path options. MWH Constructors is different in that we work with each of our employees to put together a detailed career path that meets their individual needs and goals for the future.
These career paths include not only options for the next position within our company, but also look at what types of skills and experience the employee needs to gain and develop to meet their ultimate goal. Plans also include training and education options both in the classroom and in the field.
We also ensure we stay connected when an employee departs the company, in case future projects or positions may be a good fit for their needs. We always plan their possible return path to MWH Constructors.
Your well-being, both health and financial, is the focus behind our competitive, flexible benefits plans and compensation programs. We continually monitor and regularly enhance our benefits plans so we remain competitive within our industry and within each country that we operate in.
We’ve designed opportunities for you to Live Well, Save Well, and Spend Well with our benefits package. Throughout the life of your career, you can use our programs to make decisions focused on health and wellness, retirement and company ownership.
Our culture of “living well” extends beyond just great health benefits. As an MWH Constructors employee, you can get rewarded for participating in wellness-related activities, including charitable community-based fitness events.
Our goal is to provide an overall compensation package based on an employee’s performance and geography and on what the industry does. Each year, we review local market and competitive third-party salary survey data to more competitively compensate our employees based on performance, skill level, industry experience and role at MWH Constructors.
For employees and their eligible dependents, we offer various options for comprehensive health and dental care coverage so employees can choose benefits that fit their needs.
Our voluntary wellness program offers employee free information, tools and support programs to help them and their families improve their health and well-being.
We offer group retirement plan choices, each with a wide variety of investment options, including retirement savings plans with employer-matching contributions. We also have share purchase plans in the United States. Planning for your future career at MWH Constructors begins with our focus on you, and your talents, passions and contributions to our team.
Investing in people is the most important investment a company can make. At MWH Constructors, our culture embraces diversity and flexibility as an ongoing commitment to our entire company. Diversity expresses itself in many different ways in age, gender, race, culture, sexual orientation, religion, belief, education, physical ability, personality, experiences and approaches to work. We support, foster and invest in each employee’s success through a culture of inclusion. We aim to maximize each employee’s potential by valuing these differences and creating a productive environment by which our talents are fully utilized and organizational goals are achieved. From experienced managers, directors and construction team leaders to the best skilled craft professionals, we strive to create a diverse workforce and propel our industry forward.
Our mission is to shape the diversity of our workforce, equitably and inclusively across differences. This mission helps us meet the needs of our employees, clients, suppliers, shareholders and communities, is supported throughout our organization, and is reflected in our value statements. To develop our Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Plan, we surveyed our employees in 2016 to measure how included and respected people of different genders, ethnicities and sexual orientations feel. It was interpreted by an outside consultant that compared against a previous survey done in 2015. The result? A 7.2% improvement in the number of employees who feel included at work. We also compared ourselves against global workplace benchmarks in an Employer Inclusivity Index Study. D&I Council representatives from throughout the business provide program visibility and incorporate diversity and inclusion in our day-to-day activities.
Historically, the construction industry has been male dominated. We actively address compensation to mitigate disparities between genders, as well as provide tools for our leadership and hiring managers to foster a more diverse, inclusive and equitable workforce.
Diversity and inclusion creates an atmosphere of trust and respect. This depends significantly on the relationships we have with each other and our communities. Diversity awareness, education and skill building sets the groundwork for an inclusive environment where we can do our best work and serve our clients to the best of our ability. We work to ensure that all levels of the organization are educated about conscious and unconscious bias.
We are also involved in external activities that promote diversity and inclusion in the broader marketplace. We actively participate in a number of community partnerships, promoting opportunities for engaging with and recruiting women, members of visible minorities, indigenous people, people of diverse ethnic origins, and people with disabilities.
Committed to our mission, we strive to foster a workplace where employees are valued based on their abilities, talent and potential.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the construction industry is projected to have the fastest growth in both production and employment in the entire economy from 2012 to 2022.
At MWH Constructors, we recruit and retain the best craft professionals in the industry by providing long-term job opportunities on multiple projects, competitive wages and benefits, as well as leadership and training for continued career growth.
