MWH Global One of America’s Largest Majority Employee-Owned Companies

MWH GlobalBroomfield, Colo., 19 August, 2015 – MWH Global, an engineering, consulting and construction firm focused on water and natural resources, today announced that it is the 18th largest majority employee-owned company in the U.S., and the 3nd largest employee-owned company in Colorado, according to the National Center for Employee Ownership’s (NCEO) Employee Ownership 100 list.

To be on the list a company must have a majority of its stock owned by an employee stock ownership plan or other broad-based employee ownership plan. MWH Global, a provider of strategic consulting, environmental engineering and construction services, has grown from small beginnings nearly 200 years ago to one of the largest water and natural resources infrastructure firms in the world.

Companies appearing on the NCEO list range from super markets, technology and health care to engineering and construction firms, dairy companies and manufacturing operations. The top 100 listed companies employ more than 668,000 people, and many are 100% employee-owned. MWH Global currently employs approximately 7,000 globally.

Research shows that employee-owned companies grow significantly faster, have much lower turnover, and are much more financially stable than comparable conventional companies.

According to Chairman and CEO Alan Krause, MWH continues to take a growth oriented approach, expanding into markets and geographies where its expertise in water and natural resources can be realized.

“MWH Global benefits every day from the talents and energy of our employees who work hard to deliver value to our clients,” said Krause. “I’m encouraged by their commitment and I am proud to stand with them as employee shareholders dedicated to our purpose of Building a Better World.”
