Safety Week WWS

We are Stronger, Safer Together

00MWH was very excited to take part as both a sponsor and participant in this year’s Safety Week. This is the third year MWH has sponsored Safety Week alongside forty other national and global construction firms.

Safety Week is an opportunity for companies, and even competitors, to work together and rally around a common vitally important cause, safety! Safety is one of the most important aspects of any construction site which is why it is important to collectively raise awareness on how to improve safety in order to better the lives of not only ourselves, but those around us.

“It was great to see all of our projects lead from the front by sharing with our personnel and subcontractors the importance of being committed to safety each day,” said Frank Goettlich, U.S. health and safety director. “We all work together to strengthen our safety culture and our industry’s safety culture. Safety is a personal business that in turn creates good business for all of us.”

Safety Week WWSMWH and partners participated in numerous Safety Week events including training across all of our sites. Multiple offices put together idea boards to show why they work safely. Slayden’s Joint Water Commissions Project participated by creating a 2017 project goals poster.

Included on the poster was a list of reasons why they work safe. Family, coworkers and the love of life were among the collection of ideas pulled together by employees. Willamette Water Supply did something similar, having everyone bring in pictures of family members to show why they choose to work safely. Projects also hosted safety BBQs where senior managers challenged every employee to finish the year with zero recordables and gathered input on ideas as to how to accomplish this as a company.

We would like to thank all of our employees for the efforts they make to ensure every week is safety week.
